CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – He inspired and surprised many playing in the UVa spring football game just a few months after recovering from November’s gunshot injuries. Running back Mike Hollins, himself, has a lot of inspiration heading into August training camp before the Hoos kick off their season opening September 2nd against Tennessee in Nashville. He says this season he’s playing for God, his family, and the Charlottesville community.
He said at pre-training camp media day, this is not just about football anymore and it’s much bigger than him. He says football is a vehicle he can use all-around… and build stronger relationships with his teammates, his professors, and people here to support him. He says football is not the “end-all/be-all”, and it can’t be.
