CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – After the past few weeks of falling gas prices, Triple-A notes prices are back up again as we’ve gotten March underway. While Triple-A MidAtlantic reported prices up just a penny Friday over Thursday, stations at Pantops jumped to 3.15 and 3.25 from 2.99 overnight.
Triple-A’s Morgan Dean says we’re seeing demand up a bit, but main reason is we’ve started to see the summer blend arrive at stations. He says the summer blend costs more to refine, and is responsible for a 5-to-10 cent jump at the pump. He says higher prices are likely still in store as we begin the summer driving season in a few weeks.
