SYRIA (WINA) – Firefighters still fighting to contain two large wildfires in the Commonwealth burning the past week or more, and there’s now a third. The new one is Poplar Creek in Buchanan County which is at 350 acres and 75% contained. No structures are threatened.

The Quaker Run fire in Madison County is 782 acres, but the Sheriff’s Department says it is 100% inside containment lines which is at 1600 acres.

At the Parrot River Road fire in Pulaski at the Giles County line, the state forestry department has that at 491 acres and 70% contained… no change reported since Tuesday.
