CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WINA) – The FBI, with assistance from the Charlottesville Police Department, has created a heavily armed police presence in the 800 block of St. Charles Ave.

People near heard what sounded like a “flash-bang” from inside a home just before 2 p.m., after which authorities arrives and guided people farther away due to safety concerns.

According to The Daily Progress, authorities removed an infant covered in a towel from the home, with the child then placed into the arms of a woman.

The Richmond FBI office says more information on the “court-approved” action will be released after the operation is complete.
