ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – On Tuesday August 29, 2023, at approximately 5 am, patrol officers with the Albemarle County Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at a residence in the area of Cypress Pointe Drive.

Officers arrived on scene to discover one deceased female inside the home. A second female was detained at the scene without incident. The names of the parties are currently being withheld until the notification of the next of kin is completed.

Preliminary information indicates that this was a domestic situation and there is no threat to the community.
