RICHMOND (WINA) – Friday opens 45 days of early voting preceding the June 20th General Assembly primaries. State elections commissioner Susan Beals says 66 of the 133 counties and cities in Virginia are having a primary. Beals says this is the first state and local elections we’re had since drawing new districts, so almost everyone will see new district numbers and names on their ballots than before.

You can go to “elections-dot-virginia-dot-gov” to see if you have a primary where you live. In our area, Louisa is the only locality with a Republican primary; but Louisa, Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, and Nelson all have Democratic primaries.
