RICHMOND (WINA) – Beginning immediately, Dominion Energy Virginia is lowering its customer rates by about $14 monthly. Dominion Energy’s Craig Carper says the General Assembly has allowed elimination of several riders that have been absorbed into base rates… saving the average customer $7 a month. The General Assembly has also allowed Dominion to seek approval from the SEC to spread fuel costs over a multi-year period which lowers the monthly bill another $7. While that still awaits approval, Dominion can lower that rate on an interim basis pending the regulatory approval.

Carper says Dominion is pleased to lower rates at a time when consumers are paying more for most goods and services.
