CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WINA) – A Palmyra man has been charged with a February shooting at Wicked Hits.
A Feb 8, 2023, fight soon escalated into a shooting.
Police arrived to learn that a man had taken himself to UVA Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Demetrius Andre Brown, 40, of Palmyra was identified and charged on Apr 10. He was arrested and taken into custody in Albemarle County without incident on Apr 11.
He is charged with:
- Discharging a firearm within 1,000 feet of school zone
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
- Maliciously shooting at an occupied motor vehicle
- Malicious wounding
- Unauthorized use of a vehicle
Police say a bronze 2003 Nissan Altima that was used in the incident has yet to recovered.
