CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Charlottesville Police and fire hazmat responded to the Millmont Street BP this (Monday) morning for… counterfeit bills. Crews were called shortly after 9am, blocking a lane of Barracks Road and Millmont around the BP for a little over an hour on a Level 3 hazmat call.
CPD’s Kyle Ervin said the clerks there received three $100 bills that felt and appeared like they had some sort of hazardous chemical on them. Two hazmat crews entered the store in rubber suits and wore only N95 masks to investigate, but found no hazardous substance on the bills. CPD is now conducting a counterfeiting investigation.
Anyone who knows anything can call CPD or Crime Stoppers at 970-4000.
