CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – City Council is expected to approve the employment contract of current Deputy City Manager of Operations Sam Sanders as permanent City Manager tonight. The contract will pay him $240,000 annually with a $6600 vehicle allowance per year. That salary cannot be reduced unless there’s an across-the-board city employee reduction.
The contract requires Sanders to live within Charlottesville city limits within 12 months of execution of the contract agreement, which is Monday, July 17.
Sanders is working the next couple of weeks in transition with interim Michael Rogers.
