CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – For the first time since Lisa Robertson resigned in December, Charlottesville has a permanent city attorney. City Council Monday night unanimously approved former Chesapeake City Attorney Jacob Stroman as recommended by City Manager Mike Rogers. Mayor Lloyd Snook is impressed by reference Stroman made during the interview process of questions Justice Brett Kavanaugh asked when the Supreme Court was hearing affirmative action cases.
Stroman was Chesapeake’s City Attorney for roughly 5 years before resigning in January; worked in private practice for 3 years prior; has been chief staff attorney for the Virginia Supreme Court; and has been county attorney in Gloucester, Isle of Wight, and Spotsylvania counties; and was once deputy city attorney in Norfolk.
