CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WINA) – The Blue Ridge Health district is offering free cribs for families in need.

To qualify, the families must live in Charlottesville, Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, or Nelson counties and receive or be eligible for programs such as WIC, SNAP, TANF or Medicaid, and the child be under 12 months old. Income guidelines apply, as well.

BRHD is using the event to promote safe practices and help stop sleep-related infant deaths.

Those interested must reserve a crib, then visit the Charlottesville/Albemarle Health Department on Wednesday, May 3, 4-6pm. For more information, people can call Jacinto Gonzales at 804-972-1146.
