FLUVANNA, Va. (WINA) – Fluvanna County High School was evacuated upon learning of a bomb threat on Wednesday afternoon.
The threat was posted on Snapchat around 4 p.m. People were immediately released and evacuated, with all events, activities and practices for the rest of the day cancelled.
Superintendent Peter Gretz stated in a letter sent to families that individuals involved had been identified, and that staff and families would be updated as soon as more information was available.

On September 27, 2023, the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office received
information from the administration at the Fluvanna County High School of a bomb
threat that had been posted to/observed on social media. In this instance and in the
interest of safety, school administration began the process of dismissing students.
Multiple deputies from the Sheriff’s Office responded to assist in the dismissal process.
The investigation will continue into the nature of the threat and the Sheriff’s Office
staff are continuing to work with school officials to safely return the facilities to normal operation.
