CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – An arrest, but not much more information, on gunshots that closed a portion of Preston Avenue during the May 16 afternoon rush. Charlottesville Police say they arrested 21-year old Kyheim Kier Saturday on a charge of firearm possession by a felon, but additional charges are pending.
Preston Avenue in front of Washington Park and Trinity Episcopal Church was closed for more than 2 hours during the Tuesday, May 16 as officers investigated, but CPD at the time said no one was injured. Police say they’ve recovered two firearms and the investigation is ongoing. They’re also determining other parties involved.
