CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Nearly 3 years after the murder, 25-year Fluvanna County resident Tajuan Rahmeen Allen has pleaded guilty in Albemarle Circuit court to 2nd-degree murder for killing a man on South First Street. Allen was an immediate suspect in the November 5, 2020 murder of 27-year old Dreshawn McDonald but was not captured until about three weeks later in Pennsylvania. It took nearly three years to extradite him from the Keystone State as they adjudicated a firearms charge there.
He also pleaded guilty to the December 8, 2023 malicious wounding of Brian Draper in the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail. He faces 77 years when sentenced September 24.
