CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Something exciting is coming in the food world! On Friday, Simon Davidson from Charlottesville29.com announced a new donut shop coming to Charlottesville.
The shop, Sbrocco’s, is named after its founder Melissa Sbrocco, who discovered her passion for baking at MarieBette during the pandemic. Partnering with MarieBette, Sbrocco will open in the former Anna’s Pizza location. Davidson, who has sampled Sbrocco’s donuts, assures us that “Charlottesville should be very excited that her donuts are soon going to be available.”
In related news, it’s the ninth anniversary of the “Bronut,” a pastry that went viral after Davidson gave it a catchy new name.
