Aug 2, 2023, News Release
Sentara RMH Medical Center and Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital are teaming up with the Greene Care Clinic and the Greene County government to bring their Mobile Mammography Van to Greene County for two dates in 2023: August 23 and October 13. The van will be parked at the Greene County Office Building parking lot at 40 Celt Road in Stanardsville on those days to screen the women in our region for breast cancer.
If you (or someone you know) is insured, call (434) 654-7106 to schedule an appointment for either date. If you (or someone you know) is uninsured, call the Greene Care Clinic at (434) 985-7000 to see if the patient is eligible for a free mammogram through the Every Woman’s Life program.
The goal of this program is to make breast cancer screenings accessible and convenient for all women in Greene County and as a result, to help save lives. The mobile unit travels throughout Virginia to help make mammography appointments fast and convenient. If you are older than 40 years, a physician’s referral is not required for an annual screening mammogram. It’s important that the community take advantage of this opportunity to ensure convenient access to our community is available in the future.
The Greene Care Clinic provides free healthcare to residents of Greene County who are uninsured and whose income is below 300% of the Federal Poverty Level. The clinic is at 39 Stanard Street in Stanardsville. For more information about the clinic, visit greenecareclinic.org, email executivedirector@greenecareclinic.org, or call (434) 985-7000.
