CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Virginia Baseball team jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but the Bulldogs responded and were able to have a productive 4th inning against UVA starter Evan Blanco to take a 4-2 lead. That lead would hold until the sixth inning when Virginia added two runs to tie the game. The teams battled back and forth into the ninth, when the Hoos produced a walk off single to take the game 5-4 and move to the catbird seat at 2-0 in the regional. In order not to advance to a Super Regional, UVA would have to lose back to back contests. They will play the winner of St. John’s and Mississippi State on Sunday evening at 6p.m.
