Robert Tunis Duvalois (Backhoe Bob), age 80, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born in Paterson, New Jersey to Tunis and Rose Marie Duvalois on December 19, 1943. He grew up in Wayne, New Jersey and retired to Palmyra, Virginia where he founded Backhoe Bobs Inc.

Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan; daughter Daryl Marchant (Quen); son Darrin (Michele); sister, Doris (Richard); granddaughter, Kaitlyn; grandsons, Matthew, Logan and Hayden; several nieces and nephews as well as his beloved golden retriever, Bentley and tabby cat, Oscar. He is preceded in death by his father, Tunis; mother, Rose Marie; sister, Claire and grandson, Joseph.

Bob also lovingly referred to as “Gramps” was a skilled woodworker, a hell of an excavator, and was quite the comedian and storyteller. He had a great laugh that will be missed dearly.
