George (Eddie) Mays, 77 of North Garden, Va. died January 12 at his residence.

Born May 21 ,1946 in Charlottesville, Va. He was the son of the late John W. Mays and Evelyn Peak Mays.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Aubrey M. Mays.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Constance Mays of 54 years; son Dwayne E. Mays and daughter in law Christina Mays of Florida; daughter, Teresa Currier Cassell of Charlottesville; three grandsons; four granddaughters; five great grandsons; one great granddaughter; one special niece, Lisa Collins; four sisters in law and four brothers in law.

George E. Mays was a lay speaker many years and loved speaking at area churches. He loved talking and never met a stranger.
