Robert “Buddy” Everett Wood passed away at The Blake in Charlottesville, Virginia after a brief illness, surrounded by loved ones.

Buddy was predeceased by his parents, Maynard Archie Wood and Ethel Mae (Sprouse) Wood; brothers, Maynard A. Wood Jr, (Evelyn), William F. Wood (Carol); sisters, Daisy M. Samuel (John), Doris A. Pritchett (Aaron), Shirley J. Dawson (Edgar), J. Elizabeth “Tad” Robinson (Sidney); wives, Geneva V. (Beasley) Wood, and Joan M. (Cowgill) Wood.

He is survived by his brother, Randolph F. Wood (Becky); daughters, Judy A. Dunigan (Bobby), Vickie L. Wingfield (Michael); sons, J. Steven Henley (Jenny), D. Anthony Loyd (Caroline), and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Buddy grew up in a time where much of what one knew was self-taught or learned by doing. He could fix or build anything and loved to learn new things by studying on his own. This served him well as he spent a career working at Sears as an electronic/tv technician. He also valued his relationship with God and was a member of the Southside Church of God.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, at Hill and Wood, 201 North 1st Street, Charlottesville, Virginia. Family will receive friends one hour before the service. Interment will be private for the family.
