Correction: October 23, 2024: Since the publication of this article, we have learned from Albemarle County Police that their initial description misidentified the suspect as a man. The suspect has now been identified as a woman.

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA – (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Albemarle County Police are asking for assistance in finding a robbery suspect.

On Thursday, April 18, 2024, at approximately midnight, officers responded to a reported robbery that had just happened at the Shell gas station in the 2200 block of Ivy Road.

The victim reported that the suspect had attempted to purchase alcohol. When advised that the clerk could not sell alcohol at the time, a physical altercation occurred, and the suspect grabbed the cash register till. The suspect also removed his t-shirt and face mask during the altercation. The suspect exited the location with a case of alcohol and the cash register containing approximately $180 in cash.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30’s, 5 foot 10 inches in height, and 200 pounds wearing a black t-shirt, shorts, and a gray mask on his face when entering the location.
