In Loving Memory of Alvin Michie, a Beloved Son, Brother, and Friend.

Alvin passed away peacefully on March 13, 2024, at Forest Hill Health & Rehabilitation in Richmond, Virginia leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. He was a man whose heart overflowed with warmth and compassion, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Alvin Michie, II, born on July 29, 1938, in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a native son of Charlottesville, he was nurtured and educated in Charlottesville City Schools. Alvin grew up surrounded by the love of his family. He loved spending countless joyful times in their company. These moments formed the foundation of his deep appreciation for family and the joy of togetherness.

An integral part of Alvin’s life was his passion for good food and the joy of spending cherished moments with his family. He found pleasure in savoring delicious meals and enjoying family gatherings around the dinner table. Alvin found comfort and joy in nature’s embrace through his love for long walks. His appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors was matched by his passion for Motown music, which brought rhythm and melody to his life’s journey.

Alvin Michie was preceded in death by his parents, Robert J. Michie, Sr., and Gertrude Austin Michie, stepmother, Mabel Michie, his sister, Virginia Michie Jones, brothers Charles and Robert J. Michie, II and two dear friends Mercedez and Whitney. He leaves behind a legacy of beautiful memories. Alvin’s legacy continues to flourish through the generations, a wide circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Though Alvin may no longer walk among us, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who loved him and those who were blessed to know him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten. His memory will be kept alive through the countless lives he touched and the love he shared so freely.
