CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – UPDATED: What seemed like a possible strong-to-severe storm possibility forecasts earlier this morning for this midday is less of a possibility as light rain moves in. Accuweather’s later forecasts this morning have backed off the stronger storm possibilities, although we could see strong winds at higher elevations still this afternoon into tonight. But right now, midday rains look like they’ll be light to moderate with reduced chances of strong to severe storms than was being forecast earlier.

ORIGINAL: A day to be weather-aware as lunch time approaches. Weather forecasters say damaging winds or an isolated tornado are possible this afternoon into this evening with strong to possibly severe storms. Heavy rainfall from storms may lead to isolated instances of flooding. The futurecast has storms in our area beginning the 11 o’clock hour and lasting until just before the afternoon drive. A wind advisory then will be in effect this afternoon and evening in the Blue Ridge.
