CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW/RADIO INSIGHT) – Longtime local radio host Joe Thomas confirms he has been “let go” from WCHV, but he’s not out of radio for long. In a social media post, Thomas writes, “As with the end of all relationships, there is what I would say about what precipitated it and what they might say. Since they are not here to tell you their view, I will not taint your determinations with mine. That said, I hope to be able to talk to you again soon. #staytuned #leavethelighton.”

Thomas had been morning host and program director of the station since 2007, and Radio Insight late last month reported his and his wife Elaine’s Thomas Media :is acquiring 1240 WTON in Staunton and translators 98.9 W255DS Harrisonburg and 101.1 W266BQ Crozet from StuComm”. While not on the radio right now, he referred in a Facebook response from state Senator Mark Peake expressing sorrow for the development with the Radio Insight article, and the words “well, here’s what’s coming soon”.
