CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – A power outage affecting University of Virginia data centers has resulted in a major network outage this morning. Power has been restored and the University will be under normal operations today and academic division classes will be held as scheduled as those wrap up for the semester today and tomorrow. However, the extent of instruction is questionable as many materials used in class are computer-based.

Base information technology systems such as inbound phone calls and applications requiring NetBadge authentication (WorkDay, Collab, etc.) remain down. Phone access to UVA Health and its clinics is also impacted, except for Medcom and Poison Control.

Teams are working to restore access to network systems as quickly as possible.
