Katherine M. Deazley left this world on March 11, 2024. She is in a better place greeted by deceased Deazleys, Mautes, Schultzes and friends. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Mike Galvez; sisters Sally Halliday and Susie Walston; brothers-in-law John Halliday and Mac Walston; parents-in-law Glenda and Primo Galvez; sister-in-law Laura Nichols; niece Katie Deazley; nephews Bernie Deazley III and Jack Halliday, Sr., as well as three grand nephews and one grand niece. Kathy was loved by many friends. She celebrated the 40th anniversary of her bone marrow transplant for Leukemia.

Kathy was born in Reidsville, NC, on May 3,1958. She was the last child of Katherine M. Maute and Bernard G. Deazley Jr., making it a family of six. Her older and only brother Bern passed away in 2023. She also lived in New Jersey and moved to Virginia in 1964. She never left Charlottesville, VA, after graduating from the University of Virginia.

Her professional career included Region Ten Community Services Board of Virginia, PRA, United Health Group, Protrials, etc.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.
