CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Nelson County Sheriff’s deputies have a Waynesboro man in custody after an early Friday morning pursuit that started as a traffic stop, and ended with capture of a fugitive. A deputy attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding on Route 151 shorty after midnight Friday morning when it sped up going north. The vehicle continue through tire deflation devices in the Roseland area that flattened the front tires, the vehicle continued, struck a sheriff’s vehicle at Route 56, then continued onto 29.

At Harvey Road, the suspect vehicle veered off the road, crashed through someone’s fence and yard, and fell off an embankment where the vehicle stopped. Deputies apprehended 28-year old Shaquan Wilson who was wanted in Waynesboro for illegal drug possession.
