CHARLOTTESVILLE (WINA) – Albemarle Parks & Rec is putting out the annual call for lifeguards, beach managers, summer recreation leaders, seasonal groundworkers, and more. A release seeking workers says the county needs help guarding and managing swimming lakes at Chris Greene, Mint Springs, and Walnut Creek Lake parks. The past couple of seasons since the pandemic have necessitated some staff shifts, and even a few temporary closures, so they could allocate enough staff resources at the swimming lakes.
Positions start at $16-an-hour for lifeguards and $18-an-hour for head lifeguards with opportunities to earn up to 40 hours a week between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Lifeguard certification reimbursement is available.
