ORANGE (WINA) – Virginia State Police is asking for help with identifying a vehicle in a crash that caused serious injuries on Monday morning in Orange County. It happened at 5:50 a.m. on Route 20 at Rhoades Road.

The vehicle in question was traveling west when it tried to pass a 2020 Ram utility van that had stopped to make a left turn. That caused an oncoming 1999 Ford Ranger to run off the side of the road, overcorrect and collide with the Ram.

The driver of the Ford, a 23-year-old man from Orange who was not buckled up, was ejected and take to UVA Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. A 20-year-old female passenger in the Ford and the 41-year-old Fredericksburg man who was diving the Ram were both taken to Mary Washington Hospital with minor injuries.
