RICHMOND, VA (CvilleRightNow) – A Richmond Police Officer has been arrested accused of, in part, impersonating a law enforcement officer. While a Richmond Police release announcing a Richmond Circuit Court indictment of 40-year old Leary Wright does not outline the specific accusation — the law enforcement impersonation has to do with computer invasion of privacy of another individual. The state code says computer invasion of privacy occurs when someone “uses a computer or computer network and intentionally examines without authority” personal information of another person.
Wright — an 8-year RPD veteran — was arrested at the police headquarters Wednesday without incident.
