RICHMOND – Early voting is over, and Super Tuesday is here with polls opening 6am March 5 for Republican and Democratic Presidential primaries. While both ballots have clear frontrunners, they have several names on them in both parties. Nikki Haley was in Richmond for a rally last Thursday, and Donald Trump in the same town Saturday evening, both hoping to capture votes in a state Trump has lost twice in Presidential elections. While Trump double-down on his hardline immigration stands, Haley kicked off her speech worried about the debt and borrowing money from China.
Pastor and private equity founder Ryan L. Binkley is the only other actively campaigning candidate on Virginia’s Republican ballot. Three others suspended their campaigns after Virginia printed up the primary ballots… Chris Christie, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Ron DeSantis.
There are three names on Virginia Democratic primary ballot, and all are still actively campaigning. President Joe Biden is on the ballot, along with author and pastor Marianne Williamson and Minnesota Congressman Dean Benson Phillips.
Polls open at 6am and close at 7pm. As long as you’re in line by 7pm, you’ll be able to vote. You’ll choose which party primary in which you want to vote, but cannot vote in both. There is no commitment to voting in the November 5 election for the person you vote for in the primary.
