CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville Police responded to a report of gunshots being fired on the city’s Downtown Mall at about 1:53 a.m. Saturday, CPD announced. 

No injuries have been reported, but multiple shell casings were found in front of the CVS store at 300 East Main St. 

Police closed that block of the mall for multiple hours overnight as they investigated the incident. As of Saturday at 7 a.m., CPD said the scene had been cleared, though the incident remains under investigation.
