CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The suspect in last month’s shooting incident at 12th St. NW and Rosser Avenue turned himself in Tuesday, Charlottesville Police announced

Kenyatta Rashad Anthony, 49, faces charges of attempted malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon in connection to a June 4 incident.

On that day, CPD responded to a report of shots fired near the intersection of 12th St. NW and Rosser Ave. Officers found evidence of a shooting, though no injuries or property damage were reported.

The investigation identified Anthony as a suspect and led to the recovery of an AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle that police believe was connected to the incident, according to the CPD release.

Anthony surrendered to detectives without incident on Tuesday, CPD said.
