CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville Police responded to a report of shots fired at approximately 9:03 a.m. Thursday in the area of 12th St. Northwest and Rosser Ave., according to a CPD release.

No injuries or property damage was found or reported. Evidence technicians did recover multiple shell casings in the area.

According to the CPD, while responding to the report, they took a male into custody on an unrelated matter.

This was at least the third gunfire incident in the area this week. On Sunday, a male victim was shot twice near Cherry Ave. CPD has arrested 26-year-old James Henry Hoffman III in that case.

On Tuesday, Albemarle County Police responded to a report of shots being fired in the 800 block of Mallside Forest Court. Responding officers found property damage to a building but no injuries.
