CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) — Virginia football’s game against Duke has been set for Friday, Oct. 23, time TBD, marking the second home game on a Friday for the Cavaliers this season.

The game will be a rematch of this past season’s ACC Championship game, in which the Blue Devils won 27-20 in overtime to claim the conference title. The two teams played previously in the regular season in Durham. N.C., with the Cavaliers besting Duke 34-17.

UVA will open its season this year with a Friday game when it faces Norfolk State at home on Sept. 11.

The Cavaliers set a program-record for wins last season with an 11-3 record, capped off with a 13-7 win in the Gator Bowl over Missouri. It was the Cavaliers’ first bowl appearance since 2019.
