CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) — The Albemarle County Police Department has discovered that a BB gun was used in the shots fired incident that occurred on the 2500 block of Hydraulic Road on March 18, the department announced on Wednesday.
ACPD said in a Facebook post the incident stemmed from a verbal altercation between two parties, with one drawing out what appeared to be a firearm and firing multiple shots which struck a vehicle.
No injuries were reported from the incident. Detectives later recovered the BB gun, which resembles a dark colored handgun, near the scene of the incident.
The suspect was charged with brandishing and assault, both misdemeanors, and turned themselves in on Tuesday. They have since been released on summons.
