CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Maxwell H Mandell, the 24-year-old Crozet man who was charged with aggravated sexual battery and three counts of indecent liberties with a child in December, now faces 46 charges for both possessing and filming child pornography.

The new indictments were handed down last week, according to court records. Mandell has also been denied bond.

Mandell was arrested on Dec. 5 after Albemarle County Police received a report that a child had been assaulted while in care of Mandell, who was babysitting them at the time. ACPD later asked anyone who may have hired or had contact with Mandell to contact law enforcement.

Mandell is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Albemarle County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on Monday.
