HARRISONBURG, VA (ROCKTOWN NOW) – An 11-year-old child was discovered unresponsive late Tuesday night in Staunton following a sledding accident.
Staunton Police Chief Sergeant Christopher Ammons tells Rocktown Now that officers responded to reports of an unresponsive 11-year-old boy on North Waverly Street just before midnight.
Despite efforts by first responders, the young boy was later pronounced deceased at Augusta Health.
While the specific cause of death is not expected to be released, Ammons confirms that the boy had reportedly been in a sledding accident earlier in the day.
