CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Charlottesville Police are investigating a gunfire incident that occurred early Wednesday morning in the city.

The CPD received a report of shots fired at approximately 2:27 a.m. Wednesday and responded to the area of 6th St. SE and Bolling area. Investigators located about a dozen shell casings in the roadway in the 700 block of 6th St. SE, causing the roadway to be shutdown for a portion of the early morning. It has since reopened.
