CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Virginia women’s basketball’s game against North Carolina State has been moved up a day in an attempt to get it played before the snowstorm that’s forecasted to cripple the area hits later Saturday evening.
The Cavaliers were originally set to tip off at noon on Sunday, but will play at 3 p.m. Saturday, immediately following the UVA men’s basketball game against North Carolina. That game was moved to noon after originally being scheduled at 2 p.m.
The court at John Paul Jones Arena was scheduled to be named in honor of former coach Tony Bennett in a pre-game ceremony before the Carolina game, but that event has been moved to the team’s Feb. 21 game against Miami.
The women’s game originally was scheduled to be a celebration of Virginia’s National Girls and Women in Sports Day. That event will also occur at a later home game.
The game will stream on ACC Network Extra (ACCNX) with radio coverage available on 98.9-FM/1070-AM WINA.
