CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Orange interim Town Manager Chris Snider has been appointed to the permanent post, the town announced Tuesday.
“In Chris’ brief time as interim Town Manager, Chris solidified relationships with all of the departments as well as many of our town residents and business owners,” Orange Mayor Harrison Cluff said in a statement. “His commitment to public service and collaborative approach will be invaluable as we work together to support residents, strengthen town operations, and plan for a vibrant and successful future.”
Snider took the interim post in September 2025, after serving as Orange’s Director of Economic Development, a role he continues in. Snider worked in the Congressional offices of former Congressman Eric Cantor, Dave Brat and Bob Good from 2012-2024. He was appointed when former Town Manager Greg Woods retired.
The Orange Town Council approved Snider’s appointment unanimously.
