HARRISONBURG (WINA) – A Harrisonburg man is being held without bond after allegedly abducting a woman Christmas Day and holding her at gunpoint. City spokesperson Mike Parks says Rueben Enrique Mejia-Garcia was taken into custody that day while walking on Central Avenue. Police accuse the 28-year old of forcing a 23-year ex-girlfriend into a vehicle outside her South Avenue apartment just after 1:45 Monday afternoon.

He then reportedly drove the woman outside city limits, holding her at gunpoint and forcing conversation for about an hour. He then returned the woman to her apartment unharmed.

Garcia is charged with five counts, including abduction… and is being held without bond at Rockingham/Harrisonburg Regional Jail.
