HONOLULU, HI (WINA) – Former UVa head basketball coach, and former Hoos’ basketball player, Jeff Jones is resting comfortably and expecting a full recovery after suffering a heart attack in Honolulu. Jones is the head basketball coach at Old Dominion where the Monarchs are in Hawaii for a weekend Christmas tournament. An ODU news release said he suffered the heart attack Wednesday evening and is currently hospitalized.
Though he’s expected to fully recover, they’re holding him in the hospital for 48-to-72 hours for observation.
The 63-year old is a prostate cancer survivor and is in his 10th year as ODU head coach.
