CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Accolades keep coming from UVA football’s 46-38 double overtime victory over then 8th-ranked Florida State as three Hoos have garnered weekly Atlantic Coast Conference honors.

Quarterback Chandler Morris, who was responsible for five touchdowns for the second straight week, is the Quarterback of the Week. He ran for three touchdowns, including a four-yard scamper in the second overtime Hoos on top, and threw for two. He was 26-of-39 for 229 yards passing, and ran for 37-yards in becoming the first Cav quarterback to run for three TDs since 2019.

The Defensive Lineman of the Week is Mitchell Melton who was credited with a career-high seven tackles from the defensive end position. He had his first career forced-fumble and tallied his fourth tackle for loss as one of five TFLs from the d-line.

Ja’son Prevard, who sealed the win with the now legendary interception in the end zone to end the game in the second overtime, is Defensive Back of the Week. That was his second INT of the game, the first when he batted the ball in the air off the hand of FSU QB Thomas Castellanos and caught it while somewhat tangled with him in the red zone to turn back a scoring threat. Prevard became the first UVA player to record two interceptions in a game since 2020. He also added two tackles and a pass breakup in the win.
