CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Woodbrook Elementary School is open Tuesday after Albemarle County Police investigated “a safety concern” overnight.
“This was an isolated incident between two students and not a general threat to the school,” ACPS spokesperson Jennifer Butler told Cville Right Now. “Law enforcement investigated thoroughly and determined there was no credible threat to Woodbrook Elementary. The school opened on time and has been operating normally today. We take all reports seriously and are grateful for our partnership with the Albemarle County Police Department.”
ACPD spokesperson Logan Bogert confirmed the department had investigated the situation “and determined there was no credible threat,” she told Cville Right Now.
Parents whose students attend the school received an email Tuesday morning from principal Christie Isaiah.
“School is operating normally today, and it is safe for students to be here,” the email reads. “Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students and employees, so we take all threats seriously. We work closely with law enforcement to investigate any concern and ensure our schools remain safe places to learn. We appreciate the partnership of the Albemarle County Police Department and the support of our families as we work together to keep Woodbrook safe.”
