CHARLOTTESVILE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Saturday’s thunderstorms and heavy rains caused severe enough high-water damage to the 1800 block of Fray Road, near the Greene County line, that the roadway had to be closed, Albemarle County Police announced Saturday night.
Some residents in the Advance Mills neighborhood reported being unable to reach or leave their homes due to the road closure.
ACPD said to expect an “extended closure.
The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Albemarle County on Saturday, until 10 p.m. The area had received 2-4 inches of rainfall by 7 p.m. and there was reported flooding along Preddy Creek, “with several roads washed out in the area,” according to the NWS.
