CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) — In the final hour of their annual radiothon for UVA Children’s Hospital — the #1 pediatric hospital in Virginia, serving children from 48 states and Washington, D.C. For the 10th year, the Charlottesville Media Group has united all six of their stations — 92.7 Cville Country, Z95.1, 97.5 3WV, 106.1 The Corner, Fox Sports 102.9, and WINA — to shine a light on the life-saving care happening every day at UVA Children’s.
Over the past two days, the stations have shared moving stories of families whose lives have been changed — and saved — by the hospital’s expert care. From dedicated doctors and nurses to resilient young patients, the UVA Children’s Hospital is a beacon of hope.

Every bed is full, year-round. In 2022, there were over 430,000 patient visits. In 2023, more than 53,000 children came through the Emergency Department. And in 2024 alone, the pediatric ICU treated 739 critically ill children, while 837 newborns spent time in the neonatal ICU — each staying an average of 24 days. More than 60% of the families served need financial help.
Now, as the stations approach the final minutes of this important effort, every donation counts. Please call (434) 982-HOPE — that’s (434) 982-4673 — text UVAKIDS to 51555 to give. You can also click HERE to donate.
Let’s finish strong — and give hope to kids who need it most.
