CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – The Botanical Garden of the Piedmont announces their invitation and acceptance into two distinguished organizations: 1% for the Planet and the American Horticultural Society. Thistlerock Mead Company of Charlottesville, with guidance from owner John Kluge, nominated BGP to be a 1% for the Planet Environmental Partner. BGP’s selection was based on their commitment to biodiversity and wildlife, community conservation, and environmental education.

And this spring BGP launched a membership program with reciprocity benefits through the American Horticultural Society (AHS). Founded in 1922, the nonprofit American Horticultural Society is one of the most respected and longstanding member-based national gardening organizations in North America.
