CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (CVILLE RIGHT NOW) – Multiple media outlets including Wahoos 247, On3, The Sabre and others are reporting that the University of Virginia Men’s Basketball program has received a commitment from former Kansas State and Kentucky Center Ugonna Onyenso. Onyenso was a former 4-star recruit and ranked in the top 50 of the 2022 class nationally. He started 14 games for K-State, averaging less than 10 points, 5 rebounds but did average nearly 3 blocks per game. Onyenso reportedly had considered trying to enter the NBA draft (Jacqui Franculli Wahoos 247) but withdrew his name and entered the transfer portal. This is Ryan Odom’s second seven-foot commitment of the week because on Monday 7 ft center and NBA prospect Johann Grunloh of Germany committed to the Wahoos.
